Stone Bridge Farm B & B is located on a quiet, scenic, historic road with 322 acres of fields, woods and nearly a mile of a state stocked trout stream. 


In the local area...

-Franklin Pierce Homestead  The period childhood home of our 14th President. 

-A Place in the Woods Trading Post offers kayak or canoe rentals, guided fishing trips on the countless nearby ponds and rivers as well as lessons and clinics. 

-Swimming at Pierce Lake, Beard Brook or Gleason Falls to name a few. 

-Fishing is enjoyed in the state stocked trout stream on our property or paddle out onto one of the local ponds for bass fishing.  If your skills need sharpening arrangements can be made for fly fishing lessons. 

-Hiking and biking is just up the road in the 1400 acre Fox State Forest.

-Ballooning is popular in this area.  With at least a week advance notice we can arrange a trip for you.  Sometimes the balloons launch from our field in front of the house!

-Skiing, boarding and tubing Ski NH
    Mt. Sunapee which is just 30 minutes away
    Pats Peak is 20 minutes and offers a tubing hill as well
    Crotched Mountain has been newly reopened and is about 20 minutes

-Cross-country skiing or Snowshoeing (we have 4 sets available) fantastic snow shoeing just out our door or at Fox State Forest.

-Golf at the local public course Angus Lea Golf

-Morse's Sporting Goods friendly folks would be very happy to assist you with any needed supplies or equipment. 

-Paintball is a blast in nearby Weare.  Adventure Games Paintball

-Antiquing at the many interesting local antique shops

-Gibson Pewter Second generation, Jon Gibson, crafts over 100 different designs of lead free pewter in his 200 year old barn in Historic Center.
-The Well Sweep Gallery
features many local artists works. 
-The Hillsborough Artisans - our talented local artists
-Central Square Emporium - in Downtown Hillsborough offers exotic treasures from around the world as well as treasures from closer to home.
-The Other Ark - Wonderful gift selection.

-Withington Auctions  have made the historic Hillsborough Center well known; though they have recently relocated to another part of town the auctions continue to be held on Thursdays from April through October by Marcia and Larry Leisure. 

-Eccardt Farm in Washington loves visitors, they have goats, emu, ducks, geese, and assorted birds

-Apple, Peach and Berry Picking near by

-Washington NH barn museum had very interesting displays including a 1940’s era kitchen.

LOCAL STATE PARKS

Pillsbury State Park, Washington on Route 31  http://www.nhstateparks.org/ParksPages/Pillsbury/Pillsbury.html There are miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, kayak and canoe rentals, fishing and picnicking.  Open from May to October.

Fox State Forest, Hillsborough
This is within walking distance of Stone Bridge Farm.  there are 1400 acres of beautiful trails for hiking and biking.  Fox is a research forest for the state.  Trails site

Rollins State Park, Warner  south slope of Mt Kearsarge   You can hike or drive up Mt Kearsarge to picnic areas with amazing 360 degree views of NH.

Winslow State Park, Wilmot Northwest slope of Mt Kearsarge - the other side of Mt Kearsarge

Fells/Hay Estate on Lake Sunapee, NH

A 20th century summer estate set with views of Lake Sunapee, gardens, hiking trails along the lake and now a protected wildlife refuge.
